’Glee’s Jenna Ushkowitz Mourns Loss of Her ‘Sweet Boy’ in Tearful Goodbye

Jenna Ushkowitz opened up about the devastating loss of her dear dog, Bear, in a touching tribute on social media.

The actress posted a black-and-white photo of herself kissing Bear on the head to her Instagram feed, along with a snap of a letter B tribute tattoo on her arm and another personal photo with her late dog.

In the accompanying message, Ushkowitz began, "I cannot believe I’m writing this. Goodbye, my sweet Bear. ❤️."

"I am truly, deeply grateful for the love and companionship you have given me in the past 9 years," she went on. "Thank you for filling our lives with pure joy, I hope we did the same for you."

The 37-year-old noted all of the key moments in her life that Bear was a part of, including meeting her husband, David Stanley, and having her daughter, Emma.

Other "pivotal moments" included "being in our wedding and being the only one to get ready with me and getting roars of cheers walking down the aisle, to my favorite, Emma’s favorite word being, 'Beah Beah.'"

Ushkowitz went on, "You got me here and you’re leaving me in great hands. You have fought through so many health issues and I hope you’re free now, resting easy and pain free now, my sweet boy... You will always, always, always be with me."

Following her sign-off, "We love you more than anything, Bear Bear. ❤️🪽," the actress shared Bear's birthday and death date, noting that he was born in January 2014 and passed away on Sept. 21 of this year.

The sad news comes about a week after the actress shared that her beloved Frenchie "was feeling much better" following a post she made days prior, asking fans to send "healing energy his way."

Many shared condolences on the post, including a few Glee castmates. Kevin McHale wrote, "Sweet little Bear made all our lives better. Grateful you 2 found each other in this life. ♥️♥️♥️," while Chris Colfer added, "He was the absolute best! Sending you so much love! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."

"angel bear. sending love jushy❤️❤️❤️," wrote Jacob Artist, as Dot-Marie Jones shared the sweet message, "Omg Jenna honey I am so so sorry this breaks my heart!! I love you so much and hugging you so tight. ❤️ chase those butterflies 🦋 bear😭🙃🥹❤️."
