Glamping isn’t going anywhere in 2024. In fact, it’s getting an upgrade thanks to a brand-new Snow Peak campsite location in the United States.

Snow Peak, a Japanese camping brand, is opening its first stateside camping destination in early 2024. Known as Snow Peak Long Beach Campfield, the gorgeous 25-acre plot in Washington state sits on the Long Beach peninsula between Seattle and Portland, Oregon.

“Snow Peak believes in the power of camping to reconnect us with nature and each other to restore our sense of humanity. It is for this reason that Snow Peak designs the quality of camp from a product and experience perspective to enable more people to experience the transformative nature of time outside,” Tohru Yamai, CEO of Snow Peak Inc., shared in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. “We see an opportunity to elevate the camping experience in North America and designed this property to bring this philosophy to life.”

On site, guests will find 56 tents, which are pre-pitched campsites that include enough interior space for up to four guests (the tents are ideal for two, but two more guests can be added with the addition of sleeping mat rentals), individual kitchens, a dining area, and an outdoor campfire set up so you can roast in peace.

For something a bit more lavish, travelers can upgrade to one of the 14 Jyubako Suites, aka climate-controlled camping cabins created by Kengo Kuma. Inside, guests can unwind on the queen bed, use the private bathroom, cook in their kitchenette, or lounge in the private living area and kitchenette. These cabins were also built with two guests in mind but can accommodate two additional children with the sleeping mat rentals. The cabins are also ADA-accessible and are even dog-friendly for those who want to bring their pooch along.

Guests may also choose to bring all their own gear and set up at one of the Field Sites. While guests can bring their tents, they will be provided with a Snow Peak Pack & Carry Fireplace, a table, and folding chairs for added comfort. All guests can visit the on-site Campstore for additional supplies (yes, it will stock s'more supplies and bug spray) and rentals and get refreshed in the Wash House, which will also come with a Japanese Ofuro Spa, set to open later in 2024.

Beyond the facilities, campers can also expect to bond with their fellow travelers. Snow Peak encourages guests to gather at various events, including during Takibi Time by its communal campfire, or to come together for live music events and on-site ecological programming. That is if those same travelers can find the time between all their adventures through the region, including heading out on coastal hikes, bikes, paddles, and wildlife viewing.

“We have seen how our global Campfield locations transformed how our users camp while connecting them to fellow campers,” Yamai added. “Our customers in Japan have long enjoyed a clean, comfortable, and elevated Campfield experience and are thrilled to bring online a similarly unique offering to the North American camper. We look forward to opening our doors to what will be our 12th global location and welcoming campers of all experience levels to the Long Beach Campfield.”

The campground is currently slated to open in February 2024, and reservations are now available from February through May 29. See more at snowpeak.com.
