WHAT: Matthew M. Wiliams' latest presentation is an ode to Givenchy's history, elevating the brand's signature refined sensibility. Oversized outerwear juxtaposes decidedly feminine silhouettes, delivering a collection that conveys modern interpretation of what it means to be Parisian chic.

WHERE: Givenchy's SS24 show was held at the École-Militaire in Paris within an open concept space designed by Gabriel Calatrava.

WHO: Madelyn Cline and Tyga attended while supermodel Jessica Stam walked.

SAW: Romantic chiffon makes several appearances as the dainty fabric is draped across models, resulting in pale blue sarongs, alongside dresses and blouses outfitted with plunging necklines. Languid silhouettes don't hesitate to find themselves in sturdier textiles as mud silk, which mimics leather, takes shape in the form of shifts, which are softened with floor-sweeping trains. Meanwhile, skirts crafted from the same supple material are held together with G-string like straps, giving the item a modern update. Flowers are in abundance as well, nodding to both Hubert de Givenchy and Matthew M. Williams' love for gardens. Rosettes are woven into asymmetrical dresses or worn as cross-body sashes, joining hand-painted floral prints adorn fabric. Even the models' makeup referenced bouquets as rosy cheeks dominated the otherwise minimal makeup and noughties zig zag headbands.

TOUCH: Chiffon, latticed pearl, glass, crystal, sheer fabric and mudsilk overtook the collection.

TASTE: Givenchy's SS24 collection honors the luxury house's heritage, enlivening its elegant aesthetic with inspired accessories and artful layering. Tights are worn over heels, infusing intrigue and excitement into the collection of classic clothing, while feminine fabrics are reinvigorated with glittering embellishments. Leading with roses as its main motif, Matthew M. Williams brings Hubert de Givenchy's vision into the future.
