This past weekend, Gisele Bündchen stepped out in New York City to grocery shop wearing a beige sweater, a cropped white shearling puffer coat, and light-wash flared jeans; then, for a more city-minded touch, she opted for a pair of well-worn white sneakers. But while it is 2019, the perpetually fresh-faced Brazilian bombshell could easily have been stepping out of a time capsule from the early ’00s. Bündchen has abided by an über casual off-duty look from the very beginning of her modeling days, whether she was biking with Leonardo DiCaprio in a tank top, jeans, and flip-flops or even heading out at night in scuffed-up Converse.

Her casual, pared-back outfits are a far cry from the over-the-top, camera-ready street style ensembles of models today; in fact, it’s refreshing to see that a veteran supermodel knows her personal style so well that it has relatively remained unchanged for over two decades. The only detail that really tells us that Bündchen isn’t plucked out of a chic twilight zone? Her AirPods.
