Gisele Bündchen has been a household name for years, and that's a status she worked really hard to achieve. Not only did she curate a super successful modeling career for over a decade, but she continued to build her empire with a lot of heart, hard work, hustle, and, of course, super lucrative endorsement deals. And, together with her (soon-to-be ex) husband and football star Tom Brady, the two have built up an empire of wealth together.

Sadly, the couple recently announced their divorce after 13 years of marriage, filing official documents in Florida on October 28, after weeks of living apart, per ESPN. The couple both posted an announcement about the divorce on their Instagrams, but more details are yet to come. That being said, there’s could be a lot of discussions about all that $$$ during the proceedings. A few details about their prenup have leaked, but more on that in a second.

With all that, it’s understandable to wonder about Gisele’s net worth. (Spoiler alert: She’s going to be just fine.) Here’s a look back at how she got so rich.

She was discovered in a mall.

Yep, way back in 1994, Gisele was discovered in a shopping center by an agent for Elite Model Management, which is one of the biggest modeling agencies in the world, according to Brittanica. She was just 14 at the time.

Things really picked up for her at the turn of the century, though: Gisele entered her agency’s Look of the Year contest in 2000, and placed second in the country and fourth in the world, Brittanica says. In 2001, she moved to New York City to become a professional model and soon after started appearing at New York Fashion Week.

She signed a huge contract as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

Being an Angel used to mean you’d really made it as a model, and Gisele clenched the title back in 2000. She signed a $25 million, five-year contract with Victoria's Secret that year, according to Forbes. Around the same time, she started dating infamous A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio and quickly became a household name.

She was the top paid model for more than a decade.

Gisele didn’t just model—she was “the” model. In fact, she was the highest paid model in the world from 2002 until 2017, according to Forbes. She didn’t just slide into first place—she obliterated the competition.

In 2016, Gisele made $30.5 million, Forbes reported, which was a whopping $20 million more than second-place finisher Adriana Lima. Phew!

She made bank from sponsorships with companies.

Gisele has signed plenty of lucrative deals along the way. Companies she’s worked with include:

  • Chanel

  • Dolce &Gabbana

  • Dior

  • H&M

  • Under Armor

  • Pantene

  • Carolina Herrera

While there isn't an official number out there, a source told Forbes that Gisele's Under Armor contract deal surpassed her $25 million contract with Victoria’s Secret. The source also said that the money she received was similar to what was offered to Kevin Durant when Under Armor tried to lure him away from Nike with a $275 million, 10-year contract.

She launched a shoe line and a skincare line.

Gisele has a line of sandals with Grendene, and her own Ipanema line makes up 63 percent of Grendene’s annual exports, according to Forbes.

Gisele also had her own skincare line that she launched in 2010 called Seeja, which features a day cream, night cream, and mud mask. It has since been discontinued, per Yahoo.

She wrote a NYT bestselling book.

In 2018, Gisele released a book called Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, which talked about the “real” Gisele.

“In Lessons, she reveals for the first time who she really is and what she's learned over the past 37 years to help her live a meaningful life—a journey that takes readers from a childhood spent barefoot in small-town Brazil, to an internationally successful career, motherhood and marriage to quarterback Tom Brady,” the Amazon description reads.

Gisele has also starred in movies.

She really does it all. Yes, Gisele has gotten into the acting game over the years, and she’s appeared in famous films like The Devil Wears Prada, Taxi, and an animated series called Gisele & the Green Team, according to IMDB.

She actually is worth almost twice as much as her ex-husband.

There’s a lot of talk about how Tom is the GOAT and all that, and fair.

But a lot of people don’t realize that Gisele makes some serious bank—much more than her ex. Tom, for his part, is worth $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Gisele’s net worth is *almost* double that.

They had an "ironclad" prenup.

That only makes sense given how much both of these stars are worth.

“There was an ironclad prenup set down before they married in 2009," a source recently told Page Six. "They both have their own separate business entities, so the separation of their wealth wasn’t that complicated in the end. The only other major factor was dividing up their massive property portfolio.”

It looks like Tom is keeping their $17 million house in Miami, and Gisele has bought a smaller home in the area (which is apparently going to serve as office space...Nothing like a million dollar office). She also will keep their Costa Rica home, per Page Six.

What is her total net worth?

Thanks to a whole lot of hustle since her teen years, Gisele is worth a cool $400 million as of 2022, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
