Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady Find Bliss in Costa Rica After His Super Bowl Loss

Brady's recent Instagram seems to be taken at the couple’s home on the Nicoya Peninsula, near the beachside town of Santa Teresa.

By his own admission, Tom Brady's second Sunday in February was much better than his first one. A week after the New England Patriots' Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the quarterback and his supermodel wife, Gisele B¨undchen, have found solace in Costa Rica.

Brady posted an Instagram of the the two kissing in front of a scenic sunset. "#losingstreakstopsatone," he wrote, adding a trio of emojis at the end.

The picture seems to be taken at the couple’s home on the Nicoya Peninsula, near the beachside town of Santa Teresa. The area is a surfer's paradise, a place "where fresh fruit grows in abundance, fishing is significant to the way of life, and the day-to-day seems to center around nature, whether it’s mountains, waterfalls, or the ocean." Thanks to its abundance of eco-friendly resorts, yoga retreats, white sand beaches, and organic restaurants, it's frequently been called the next Tulum.

But Brady and B¨undchen have been going to Costa Rica long before the hype started. The tropical paradise was originally the supermodel's go-to spot, but she told Vogue in 2010 that the couple have been going there together since 2007. In 2009, they held their second wedding—a sunset ceremony—at the estate.

A few Super Bowl rings and two children later, and the Brady-B¨undchens are still decamping to the Central American country once or twice a year. Just this past July, Brady shared a shot of the supermodel and their daughter horseback riding on the beach, with the caption (and Costa Rican motto) #PuraVida. For this eco-conscious and food-conscious pair, what better place to be?
