Gisele Bündchen Shares A Bikini Selfie On Instagram As Fans Demand She 'Do Something Now' About The Amazon Fires

Gisele Bünchen treated her Instagram followers to a gorgeous bikini selfie on a Brazilian beach on Nov. 8th, but more fans were focused on her silence over the Amazon rainforest fires than anything else. 11.8M acres of the Amazon rainforest have been burned to a crisp since January of this year, and in the past, the supermodel has been known to call for environmentalist action, but so far this year, she’s been silent.

When fires spread across the Amazon in 2019, Gisele spoke out on Instagram, posting numerous photos and captioning them with statements like, “We cannot close our eyes to what is happening in the Amazon.” But on this year’s forest fires, the mother-of-three has been suspiciously mum. In the carousel of photos that Gisele posted to Instagram, one features her leaping through the air on a Brazilian beach. She sports an animal-print string bikini, showing off her toned abs and long legs. Her hair flows down her back in perfect beach waves, and she tilts her face to the sun, flaunting her even tan.

She tagged the location of the photos as “Brazil,” and captioned them “special little moments,” and added a red heart to show her love for the country. Also featured in the carousel of photos are snaps of her view from her hotel, delicious food she’s enjoyed, and cute pictures of her doing with her kids and other family members. In these photos, she donned a white ribbed tank top, effortlessly showing off her toned frame, and paired it with simple leggings or jeans.

Fans call out Gisele for her silence over the Amazon fires

However carefully curated Gisele's post was, fans were not amused. Instead, they took to the comment section of her post to call her out for not saying anything about the Amazon rainforest fires. "Why don’t you say something now? This is ridiculous, only shows you don’t care! Do something now!" one fan declared.

"Can you help spread the word about the fires happening in the Amazon right now?" another fan asked. "I know you are also very concerned about the environment."

"Where is Gisele, defender of the Amazon? Have you retired?" one user posted.

Another fan added, "I miss when you were worried about the Amazon," and a fourth agreed: "What do you intend to do about the biggest fires in the Amazon in 16 years?"

And a final fan asked, "Why aren't you talking about Amazon anymore? Do you think everything is okay over there?" Hopefully the supermodel will say something soon, as the fire continues to burn.
