Gisele Bündchen Looks Completely Unrecognizable on 'Vogue' Cover

The supermodel went through an extreme beauty transformation for the March issue of 'Vogue Italia.'

Gisele Bündchen is sporting a totally different look on her newest magazine cover.

The former Victoria's Secret Angel made fans do a double take after appearing nearly unrecognizable for the March issue of Vogue Italia.

Bündchen graced the cover of the European magazine having undergone a complete beauty transformation that included temporarily swapping her signature dirty blonde tresses for a short, vibrant red slicked-back hairstyle.

To match the fiery hair color, her eyebrows were thinly penciled in with a complimenting shade of the same hue, as a high-shine red lip and maroon manicure completed the bold beauty look.

The 40-year-old donned a form-fitting crimson-colored Maison Valentino midi dress with sheer batwing detailing, styled with a collection of accessories for the shoot by Dazed editor-in-chief and Off-White art and image director, Ibrahim Kamara.

Other shots for the spread showcase a variety of standout fashion moments with several different hairstyles—Gisele rocking a wide velour structural gown, modeling inflatable hearts over a one-shoulder little black dress, and appearing in-motion in a boudoir-style set, as well as a few sheer 'fits comprised of mesh and fishnet.

"Our cover story is a chromantic journey through the thousands of transformations of a woman who, usually portrayed as natural, is almost unrecognizable here," the publication explained (originally in Italian) in its caption of the cover image reveal on Instagram.

Followers flocked to the comments of the post with mixed reactions to the drastic changes, in addition to the supermodel herself, who simply dropped, "It was fun!"

Though many were fans of the images, writing things like, "Gisele is back 🥰🥰🥰" and "That’s why she is one of the few modern Supermodels," several others were unenthused.

"Vogue Italia is so disappointing. This cover is terrifying," one social media user said, while another echoed: "Honestly how could you use THIS as the cover seeing all these other beautiful looks shot by Rafael !!!"

Still, through the dispirited reviews, emerged a wave of supporters of the project, calling Gisele "art" and a "Brazilian icon."
