Gisele Bündchen and Her Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Joaquim Valente Are Reportedly Dating

The two were first spotted together in 2022.

After months of speculation and jiu-jitsu classes, Gisele Bündchen and her instructor, Joaquim Valente, are reportedly dating. On Tuesday, a source confirmed the new relationship to People, saying the two have been dating since last summer.

"They have been dating since June. They're taking it slow," the insider said. "They started out as great friends first. She's very private about this and wanted to keep it quiet while they got to know each other."

Another source told the publication that Valente was there for Bündchen during her divorce from Tom Brady. "He was a huge comfort for Gisele while she went through her divorce." they shared. "Their friendship turned romantic after the divorce.”

“Joaquim is a great guy," the insider continued. "He is down to earth, kind, and inspiring. Gisele was hesitant about dating after the divorce. It's been very natural for her to date Joaquim.”

The two have reportedly bonded over their similar backgrounds and interests, and the source added that the model "loves that he's Brazilian" like her.

“They come from similar backgrounds. They both left Brazil very young," a second insider shared. "They have both created amazing lives for themselves in the U.S. They both love Miami, but also enjoy traveling. They both enjoy healthy living. Gisele's in a great space. She is happy and very much enjoying life. Joaquim is perfect for her."

People notes that neither Bündchen or Valente could directly be reached for a comment.

The two were first spotted together in Costa Rica in November 2022, just a month after her divorce from Brady. However, they were just friends at that point.

After 13 years of marriage, Bündchen and Brady filed for divorce on Oct. 28, 2022. The exes share two kids, Benjamin and Vivian, and Brady also has son, Jack, from his relationship with Bridget Moynahan.

The news comes after Bündchen made a solo appearance last week during New York Fashion Week.

The model, who stars in Frame's Spring 2024 campaign, was spotted attending the brand's celebration dinner in a sleek all-black look that included a leather trench coat, a silk minidress, and knee-high boots.
