The first day of kindergarten can bring out a lot of emotions in your little one. They’re probably experiencing a tangled mix of emotions: excited, nervous, and curious. What will school be like, what will I learn, will I make friends?

By the end of the day, they’re probably 100 percent over it, though, just like Rebeca Maldonado’s daughter.

I remember being so jealous when my big brother went off to his first day of school — until he returned and said, “Well, I’m glad that’s over, and I’ll never have to do it again.” I then witnessed a look of complete shock when my mother told him, “Get used to it. This is your life for the next 13 years.”

Rebeca Maldonado shared a video of her daughter waiting to be picked up from her first day of school, and while the other kids seemed to be in good spirits, her little one seemed none too pleased with the state of education in this country.

Iconic. This girl speaks to me on a spiritual level. Her face says it all. Her reaction that of a person who’s clocked out of work only to hear their boss say, “Hey, did you get around to doing XYZ? Make sure that’s done before you leave.”

She was so over her day at school she couldn’t bear to wear her paper crown any longer.

We’re sending strength to all the kids who are going back to school after this glorious summer vacation. You’re in this for the long haul, pals.
