Girl With Scaly Skin Is Found Living In Shed And Doctors Use A Tub Of Vaseline To Heal Her
When medical workers discovered a little girl named Nagina, she was living in a run-down shed in a rural part of Nepal. She was depressed and never smiled or spoke.
That’s because Nagina was born with a severe condition that made her skin extremely thick and scaly. Her parents never had the money or resources to treat her uncomfortable and unsightly condition.
In an article for MailOnline, writer Anna Hodgekiss flew to Nepal to document Nagina’s story.
There’s a particularly strong stigma attached to individuals with disabilities in many lower-income countries. It can be nearly impossible to receive medical attention and social acceptance.
But these days, things are much different for Nagina — all because of one simple tub of Vaseline.
