How about a gin that tastes of the sea? ISCO's latest release and how you can try it.

Providence distiller ISCO Spirits is making waves with another sea-inspired liquor. Seaflow, a maritime-inspired gin, is made with local oysters and seaweed. It's naturally ocean blue in color.

ISCO also makes Ostreida Oyster Vodka, introduced in 2022 as a first in the nation, as part of its lineup of craft spirits. Seaflow joins the portfolio on May 9.

The gin highlights the artistry and sustainable commitment of distillers Dan Neff and Eric Olson, said Manya Rubinstein, CEO of ISCO. They make Seaflow from scratch starting with regeneratively farmed organic corn, produced over a two-month-long process to create a creamy, high-proof neutral spirit.

With a fresh citrus aroma, followed by flavors of light juniper, delicate seaweed, smoked kombu, candied fennel, sorrel and peppercorn, Seaflow Gin is made for gimlets, fizzes, martinis, Collins’ and tropical or citrus drinks.

"We’re especially pleased to be collaborating with Loliware on a special light blue colored compostable seaweed-based straw in honor of this exciting launch,” she said. Loliware was recently named one of America’s leading Greentech companies by Time magazine.

A “Salty Soiree” party is set for Thursday, May 9 from 5-10 p.m. at the distillery’s Tasting Room at 1 Sims Ave. No. 103 in Providence. The party will include a rideable mechanical shark alongside first tastes of Seaflow.

A raffle includes prizes from ISCO partners such as Gather Glass that will benefit Eating with the Ecosystem, a R.I.-based non-profit that promotes sustaining New England's wild seafood.

Ocean-inspired complimentary snacks will be served from the Student Activists Supporting Sustainability Group from Johnson & Wales University. They include local Monkfish Gravlax, created with fish sourced from Fearless Fish, and paired with fresh pickled rhubarb and smoked creme fraiche.

A “Let’s Make Waves” class from local maker Reclaimed & Refined is planned for Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. Participants will learn how to create a cutting board decorated with flowing ocean waves made from non-toxic, food-safe, low-odor resin. A second workshop takes place on Thursday, June 20. Cost of the class includes a complementary cocktail plus board and all materials. To sign up visit https://tinyurl.com/seaflow.

ISCO is also partnering with Providence Riverboats on monthly Ocean Spirit Cocktail Cruises throughout the summer.
