Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Photographed Walking Khai Together in First Public Outing in a Year

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have made a point since reconciling at the end of 2019 to keep their relationship as off-the-grid as possible. But today in New York City, the new parents made a rare joint appearance together while walking their daughter Khai in Soho.

Malik appeared wearing a leather jacket and black button-up top with blue jeans and a black mask. Hadid, with her newly red hair, appeared in a white top, orange blazer, striped scarf, light-wash denim jeans, yellow socks, and white sneakers. Like Malik, she wore a black mask, too. At one point, the two stopped, and she fixed his mask—a sweet, couple-y move during a pandemic where street kisses have been put on hold.

Malik and Hadid haven’t been photographed together by paparazzi in over a year. The last shots of them are from January 12, 2020. It was at that time that Hadid publicly signaled that she and Malik truly were back together, after being apart for most of 2019.

Malik spoke to iHeartRadio’s Valentine in the Morning earlier this month about what being a parent has been like.

“Honestly, it’s amazing,” Malik started, via E!. “A lot of people that I was speaking to, obviously, before she was born and stuff were like, ‘It’s a big adjustment, and it’s going to be a massive change and stuff.’ But honestly, she’s an amazing baby. It’s been really easy for me and Gig to kind of just ease into it. She kind of made it easy for us, she sleeps really well, she loves her milk. It’s just feeding and changing diapers at the moment. It's wicked. I’m enjoying it, for sure.”

He added that Hadid is a wonderful mother to their baby girl: “She’s good. She’s a wicked mom. Obviously, she’s really a big help with everything, and she’s doing well.”
