Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are Casually Talking Again

Former power couple Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have been on-again, off-again for a few years; they may have split in January of this year, but E! News reports that the exes are "in touch" again.

Before you get too excited and dig your handmade "Zayn loves Gigi" T-shirt out of storage, we have to caveat that the report hinges on an unnamed source, and therefore needs to be taken with a large grain of salt. As always, until we hear an update from Zayn or Gigi themselves, all of this is just speculation, as much as we loved them together.

The source tells E! that Gigi and Zayn are talking, but things are still "casual" for now. They told E! that Gigi "has always had a soft spot for Zayn and they have a lot of history together."

After their second breakup, which they announced via Twitter, the two went their separate ways. "They went through a phase where they took time apart and weren't communicating at all, but they have been in touch recently," the source said. "She is supportive of him. They chat here and there but it's been casual." Zayn fan accounts have even caught Gigi liking some of the musician's posts on social.

Gigi and Zayn first started dating back in 2015 before splitting a year later, then reuniting and splitting once more in January of 2019. Since then, things have been quiet between the two; Gigi briefly dated The Bachelor alum Tyler Cameron, while Zayn has kept a relatively low profile as of late. In the past, Zayn has spoken out about his relationship with Gigi, saying in June of 2018 that the two share a horse (named Cool) and that Gigi had "helped me to look at things from a positive angle."

Their alleged recent contact doesn't mean another Zigi reunion is nigh. Another source told the pub that "they are definitely not getting back together but are on good terms right now." While the two could be talking — we don't have concrete proof of anything right now! — they're definitely allowed to be friends, and they're entitled to the space and privacy they deserve too.
