Gigi Hadid’s Graphic Eyeliner Game Demands a Doubletake

Some beauty looks are designed to be wearable, while others are divined to inspire aesthetic daydreams. Yesterday, makeup artist Erin Parsons took to Instagram to share a video demonstrating the latter above-neck notion, the clip featuring Gigi Hadid blinking through an eye-encasing frame of graphic onyx.

“We were wiping the makeup off and I said ‘Wait! We need a video!’” Parsons wrote beneath a posing Hadid, the model’s slicked midi-knot pulling focus to her high-drama makeup moment. Above each eye, a duet of swoops—the topmost stemming geometrically from the inner corner of each eye—winged into something of a double-duty, exaggerated cat-eye. And below the lower lash line, two triangular pulls of liner paired with a third, separated segment to create a complete look that called to mind a modish superhero mask.

A tap through Parsons’s Insta stories found some extra intel on the application: It seems that for the second of the day’s looks—a jagged, alabaster incarnation—Hadid lent a hand, following Parsons’s lead and finishing the second eye herself. All in a day’s work for a super-skilled supermodel.
