Gigi Hadid Doesn’t Want “Anything Serious” With “Interested” Leonardo DiCaprio

Gigi Hadid and Leonardo DiCaprio may have different hopes for their nascent romance, at least based on what sources have told E! and The Sun.

A source close to Leo made it clear to E! that the 47-year-old actor is very interested in the 27-year-old model, even relatively fresh off his breakup from his girlfriend of four years Camila Morrone, who turned 25 two months before their split was reported at the end of August.

“Leo has been asking mutual friends about Gigi and wants to get to know her,” the source said. “They have hung out several times and he is interested.” That source added that he and Gigi are not “exclusive,” with the source adding that Gigi doesn’t really care to be too deeply involved with Leo at this point.

“Gigi is having fun with it,” the source said. “She is not interested in anything serious.” Gigi last publicly dated Zayn Malik, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her 2-year-old daughter, Khai. The two broke up about a year ago following Zayn’s alleged dispute with Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid; they dated on and off for six years prior to that final split.

While Gigi isn’t envisioning a serious love story with Leo, a source told The Sun that he isn’t completely against Gigi being the one—and he’s taking things slowly with her to give that future a chance.

“Leo has been telling friends he doesn’t want he and Gigi to be a spectacle—they have been so secretive throughout seeing each other,” a source said. “He wants to take it slow. They are both high-profile [and he] doesn’t want to put pressure her. They have been dating since Capri where they were on a yacht together alone.”

“He knew he wanted to meet someone who he has similar views on life,” the source added, claiming that Leo believes Gigi is mature for her age and a “real catch.”

“He’s been saying he actually feels he is ready to do a George Clooney and meet the right person—now feels he can,” the source added. “He has been telling his friends he really hates the narrative of him only dating women under 25—it upsets him. Gigi is 27 with a child. There is definitely chemistry, they adore each other, but he has no plans to make their relationship public yet.”

A source echoed that sentiment to People this week: “He really likes that she has her life together,” the outlet’s source said. “She has a child and she’s mature. He wants to be with someone who has the same idea of good causes and political views like he does.”

That said, Gigi seriously isn’t as sold on this relationship’s long-term potential as Leo is. As a source close to Gigi told E! on September 13, she sees him much more casually. “Neither of them want a relationship [at the moment],” the source said. “Gigi and Leo have hung out multiple times and are into each other. Gigi thinks he’s a really cool guy. Majority of their hangouts have stemmed from being in the same social circles at various parties.”
