Gigi Hadid Basically Wore a Giant Parachute at the VS Fashion Show

Gigi Hadid has returned to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time since 2016. The 23-year-old runway star joins models like her sister Bella, bestie Kendall Jenner, and Angels like Adriana Lima, Josephine Skriver, and Esla Hosk for this year's show in NYC, which was taped today.

Photos are still trickling in on social media, but from according to videos posted by guests, one of Hadid's runway looks involves a massive printed parachute instead of wings-oh, and a matching Victoria's Secret outfit, of course.

Gigi has to hold down her massive billowing parachute with a pair of straps that hang down at her shoulders, but that doesn't distract her from strutting down the catwalk at all. With her flowing accessory, she sports a matching pink floral ensemble with a cropped long-sleeve top, leggings, and coordinating booties.

In another runway look, Hadid wore a plaid outfit with mixed prints, an asymmetrical puff sleeve, and lace-up thigh-high boots.

This marks Gigi's third Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, since starting in 2015. Although she was initially expected to walk last year's runway in Shanghai, she unexpectedly pulled out ahead of filming. She didn't give an official reason why, but it was speculated that she had trouble obtaining a Chinese visa after she was accused of mocking Asian people in an older video on Twitter.

She announced in a tweet last November, "I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can't wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can't wait for next year!"

Her sister, Bella Hadid, however, did get to walk in Shanghai. After her cameo, Gigi congratulated her from afar. This year, the sisters will finally reunite on the VS runway.
