Gigi Hadid Was Allegedly Robbed While Vacationing in Greece

If you've been following Gigi Hadid’s two Instagram accounts (yes, that does say two), you’ll know that the model was recently vacationing in Greece with her sisters Bella, Alana, and Marielle Hadid. But it seems as though the idyllic vaca wasn't as picture-perfect as it might look on the ‘gram; Gigi took to social media to tell her followers that she was allegedly robbed during her trip.

On Friday, August 9, Gigi posted a bikini selfie to her “disposable film” Instagram account, @gisposable. “Mykonos film in,” she wrote in the caption. “PS(A). Don’t let insta fool u. Got robbed. Never going back lol. Wouldn’t recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.”

While some of Gigi's fans expressed support towards the model, others weren’t pleased with her words towards the Greek island. “This is very rude to Greece and Greek people!” one Instagram user wrote, adding: “One of the main sources of income of Greece is its tourism and you’re literally defaming the country.” Another fan weighed in to say: “Let me get this straight, you're blaming the whole of Mykonos because you were robbed and in retaliation you're trying to impact their tourism and economy by telling people not to go there?”

Gigi hasn’t yet responded to any of the criticism, and she has yet to offer any additional details about the alleged robbery. However, her father Mohamed Hadid told TMZ that his daughters’ rental home was robbed while they were out, but only “personal things” were taken. “Nobody got hurt, thank God,” he added.

It seems as though Gigi is doing OK though; since updating fans about the robbery, she’s shared several other snaps from her Greek vacation, including pictures of the sisters on a boat, lounging by the pool, and living it up in the sunshine.
