Giant Tortoise Taking a Bath Is Full of Pure Joy

This giant Galapagos tortoise is 106 years old—and one of his most favorite things in the world is getting a bath!

He’s sitting outside as his caretaker is spraying him with the hose and brushing his neck with a bristle brush. It’s such a relaxing day for him, and he’s closing his eyes and taking it all in.

Most animals enjoy baths, and this tortoise is no exception. He really loves bath time, and there’s no doubt that he probably runs to the hose every time he sees it turned on.

Tortoises may be desert creatures, but they really do like lounging around in the water. It’s probably nice and warm on his skin, setting for a very relaxing day!

The look on this tortoise’s face is one of pure joy. We can’t help but notice how he looks as though he’s smiling. His eyes are closed, and he’s totally relaxing.

It must be so fun to have one of these tortoises as a pet. They are gentle giants, only eating vegetables and fruit. They depend on plants for all of their energy, which they don’t seem to have a lot of. These tortoises are very slow moving.

This is the largest species of tortoise on the planet, and males can weigh more than 500 pounds. These gentle giants are definitely a hefty size, and require a lot of space in order to keep. Galapagos tortoises tend to lead really quiet, peaceful lives that are centered around eating veggies and laying in the sun.

They also love baths, as evident by this one tortoise. The warm water must feel so pleasant for him, especially since he is cold-blooded. They crave warmth, and often spend time basking in the sun to get some Vitamin D and warmth.

This tortoise definitely has it good—and he probably gets baths all the time since he seems to love them so much!
