Giant Eagle soon offering reusable bags for free

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Grocery shoppers can soon choose between paper bags and a more sustainable options when checking out at Giant Eagle.

“After hearing feedback from our customers that they were interested in a bag option that would help them more effectively transport heavier items, we sourced a new fully washable reusable fabric bag option for our stores” the company said in a statement to FOX 8.

Giant Eagle now allowing SNAP as payment through discount grocery app

The new bags are rolling out at Giant Eagle and Market District locations in Cuyahoga County starting May 13.

The hope is for customers to add the new bags into their reusable shopping bag collection.
