Giada's Sorta Healthy Vegas Spot Is A Liver-Saver

There's no spaghetti - sorry, spuh-gih-tee - on the menu at Giada de Laurentiis's new restaurant. The Italian chef has made it her mission to ensure Americans learn the correct pronunciation of the skinny noodles, but they can't order them at Pronto. It's not an oversight: De Laurentiis is finally letting her health-loving freak flag fly, and the hungover, perpetually stuffed tourists in Las Vegas are here for it.

Stretching an entire corner of a Ceasar's Palace casino, Pronto is the salad-slinging antidote to Sin City's all-you-can-eat buffets and fine dining spots. The bright restaurant is like a mini, Giada-fied strip mall. There are three distinct sections: one for eating, one for light boozing, and one for shopping. You'll want to hit them up in that order.

At the grab-and-go counter there are salads and sandwiches, and depending on the time of day you might find yogurt parfaits. But a crew of staffers are behind the counter to press a panini (there are five to choose from; go with the ham, cheese, and apple) or dish out the premade veggie salads that live in the glass case. Because this is Vegas, there are ways to indulge, too: A gelato display holds nearly a dozen rotating flavors, like grapefruit Aperol sorbet and chocolate olive oil, which doesn't taste nearly as odd as it sounds.

To the left is where you'll find the wine bar - there are a bunch of Italian reds on tap - and a small shop, with Giada's favorite cookware, her cookbooks, and some T-shirts once again boasting the correct pronunciation of spaghetti.

Pronto isn't the kind of gorge-until-it-hurts place Vegas has a reputation for, but it is the best way to fuel up for a big day ... at the slots.
