Jeffrey Epstein's longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell is secretly married, prosecutors revealed on Tuesday. Assistant US Attorney Alison Moe shared Maxwell's marital status during a virtual court hearing.

“In addition to failing to describe in any way the absence of proposed cosigners of a bond, the defendant also makes no mention whatsoever about the financial circumstances or assets of her spouse whose identity she declined to provide to Pretrial Services,” Moe said, according to the New York Post. No hint was given about whom Maxwell is married to.

After being arrested earlier this month at her home in New Hampshire, Maxwell is currently facing charges on six counts, which range from "transporting a minor for the purposes of criminal sexual activity," to "conspiring to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts," to perjury related to statements she made before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 2016.

She pleaded not guilty during the hearing, and her lawyers have said she "vigorously denies the charges, intends to fight them, and is entitled to the presumption of innocence."

Her team requested a $5 million bail, and according to reporter Julie K. Brown, they proposed that "she serve her pretrial detention in a luxury Manhattan hotel." But the request was ultimately denied. Maxwell will remain behind bars until her trial, which is scheduled to take place next summer.

"The court finds by a preponderance of the evidence that no combination could reasonably assure her presence in court," US District Judge Alison Nathan said per CNN. "The risks are simply too great."
