Getting in the swim of things at Frances Slocum Pool
KINGSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — You couldn’t ask for more perfect swimming weather to start the unofficial kickoff to summer.
A decent-sized crowd hit the pool Saturday at Frances Slocum State Park in Luzerne County’s back mountain.
Temperatures topping 80 degrees sure inspired kids and adults to take a dip for the first time this season.
Some of these swimmers get their share of splashing at this pool each year.

“It’s a great weekend to be out here and it’s very sunny. I’m glad the sun is coming back out,” said Saje Portalatin.
“I really enjoy it. I love it here. It’s a really nice place to like have fun,” says Anthony Lopez from Nanticoke.
The pool at Frances Slocum State Park will be open through Memorial Day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weather permitting.
Regular swimming season from Friday through Tuesday will begin at the park in mid-June.
