Kim Kardashian is hopping on the body positivity bandwagon with her latest campaign for the KKW fragrances Body II & III. But followers are making sure to let her know that she isn’t the first to do it — even though her BFF, hairstylist Jen Atkin, seems to think so.

The reality star has been posting unedited photos of women’s bodies to her KKW Fragrance Instagram page for one week, showcasing body rolls and stretch marks on diverse bodies. On Friday, however, when the new fragrances launched, she began to repost the same images on her own page, bringing even more attention to the campaign from her 120 million-plus followers. And while some fans are praising Kardashian for embracing women’s bodies and encouraging unretouched photos, Atkin is being called out for saying that Kardashian is the first to do so.

“I love this campaign!!!” the celebrity hairstylist commented on one of the photos. “Always the first!!!”

Atkin didn’t clarify what she thinks Kardashian is the first of, but most are assuming that she’s suggesting that the reality star is setting the precedent for body-positive campaigns. A number of commenters refuted that assumption with examples of many brands that have been showcasing these kinds of images for quite some time — from Dove and Aerie to Boohoo and Savage x Fenty.

“Dove did this years ago … not original,” commented one person. “Riri did it in her fashion show. Congratulate your friend without the frills,” another wrote. “I like this but if you think this is a first you need to get out of your bubble, this has been done multiple times before.”

Others have called the photos “inauthentic,” saying that Kardashian is “hypocritical” for posting unedited photos of other women while allegedly photoshopping photos of herself.

Still, most people are focusing on the beauty of the photos, regardless of any controversy surrounding the star who posted them.

Thank you for showing the imperfections,” one person wrote.
