Naked German Surfer Nearly Castrated in River Wave Wipeout (Video)

Although landlocked, Munich has surfing.

The Bavarian capital city is home to one of the world’s most famous river waves, the Eisbach, which practically pioneered the fringe offshoot of freshwater surfing.

But even though it’s not in the ocean, there's still wipeouts.

During the most recent Rapid Jam, which appears to be a free-for-all sort of competition on the Eisbach, went down recently, and so did a nude surfer who attempted a boardslide transfer from the handrail on the side of the wave, then into the water.

Classic "credit card" situation, to borrow from skate nomenclature.

In the post, from (who else?) KookSlams, the comments were as such:

“Schnitzel slap”

“Ouch”

“yes! german content! finally a reason to be proud on being german!”

“That’s what happens when you try and be a main character”

“Quick, easy and free castration process. Cold river water to numb the pain, genius.”

“That’s called the ‘German Sausage Wrecker‘”

As it turns out, though, after a bit of digging, this boardslide-to-river-wave transfer has, in fact, been pulled off successfully before (not nude, however); see below:

Impressive.

In addition, a longer clip was recently posted to YouTube, giving a better feel for what the Rapid Jam is all about. And to be honest, it looks like sheer mayhem.

Collisions. Multiple surfers on the wave at once. Wipeouts.

Naked dudes attempting boardslides amidst the jeering, hectic crowd.

Beautiful chaos.

Looks like a good time.

If you’re ever in Munich, grab a kölsch, strip off your undies, and hit the Eisbach.

Get weird with it; German weird.
