Gerard Piqué Falls Off Stage Into a Hole at Charity Event as Shakira Fans Declare it 'Karma'

Former soccer star Gerard Piqué fell off the stage into a deep hold on Tuesday night at an event he was hosting, with the entire ordeal being caught on a video that's now gone viral.

The former Spanish defender was onstage at a gala for his organization Kings League Américas when he decided to greet fans. As he ventured to the side of the stage, his cell phone pressed to his ear, Piqué suddenly dropped off the side and disappeared, as if he had dropped into the bowels of Hell.

Fans gasped and looked down into the hole for any signs of life. Meanwhile, someone could be heard clapping and cheering. The video then shows members of security staring into the pit, making little effort to intervene.

Unsurprisingly, certain fans weren’t terribly concerned about Piqué’s well-being, calling it karma for his treatment of Shakira. The couple met in 2010 on a music video set before having two sons together. They split in 2022, having never married. Piqué announced his relationship with 24-year-old Clara Chia Marti seven months after their split. In June, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer revealed she discovered he had “betrayed” her while her father was in the ICU.

“Shakira planned it,” an X (formerly Twitter) user joked, while another said: “Shakira voodoo.”

“We can all agree that we have Shakira to blame for this,” someone cracked.
