Georgia Couple Gives Extra Ticket to Sold-Out Garth Brooks Concert to Uber Driver

Katie and Zack Watson traveled from their home in Columbus, Georgia, to see Garth Brooks play Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday. Their original plan was to see the concert with a friend, but when she got sick, the couple was left with an extra ticket to the sold-out show.
"Ana got sick on Monday, and she was not able to go with us," Katie told WTVM 13. "We had this third ticket. We tried to give it away. It was just sitting out there, no takers."
The night of the concert, the Watsons hailed an Uber from their hotel in Homewood. Along the way, their driver, a retired cosmetologist named Vicky Wallace, told them how much she loved Garth Brooks. So much, in fact, that she'd come into the city from her home in Guin to take it all in.
As the pulled up to the stadium, Katie had a thought.
"I'm like, 'you know we have this extra ticket if you want to go with us,' and she's like, 'no, I'm not dressed cute. No,'" Katie recalled to WTVM 13. "Then all of a sudden, I was like, 'there's a parking space right there parallel to the stadium!'"
Vicky made a quick U-turn and they all hopped out. They sat in a row, taking the "bucket-list" experience in together.
"There's no doubt that getting to take Vicky to the concert felt good," Katie told WTVM 13's Rick Karle. "It was the least we could do, and we believe it really made Vicky's night."
Vicky said she feels "blessed," to have lived her dream. The experience reminded her that there are good people in the world.
"Zack and Katie were so kind," she told Karle. "I still can't believe I was inside the stadium."
