George Clooney's Italian summers are possibly about to shift in scenery. A source close to the ER star told Page Six that he's quietly selling his iconic villa on Northern Italy's Lake Como for €100 million ($107 million), which is significantly higher than what he purchased it for over a decade ago. “It’s very quiet. No advertising. No press—just high net worth [prospective buyers],” the insider told the outlet.

Known as Villa Oleandra, the estate was reportedly scooped up by George in 2002. Some reports say he shelled out $10 million to buy it from the Heinz family, while others place the price at $7 million. Either way, the potential profit seems vast. When he decided to go all in on it, the 18th-century escape reportedly needed major restoration work. Considering the asking price, it's likely a safe bet the actor had that done. Perhaps it also comes outfitted with furnishings and art included in the sale.

This isn't the first time rumors have swirled about his decision to sell. Rumblings of the potential move date back to 2010, when he was reportedly planning to sell because of paparazzi harassment. In 2015, the same concerns arose as he was constantly photographed at the villa shortly after marrying his wife Amal.

While Lake Como's honorary mayor and most famous resident may be saying goodbye to his beloved Italian sanctuary, the villa has certainly seen its fair share of exciting events over the years. An impressive guest list of notables in Hollywood, politics, and royalty have frequented it—including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Barack and Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry.

While the insider didn't share if George plans to relocate within Italy, Page Six was told that Amal prefers to stay at the couple's Domaine du Canadel estate in the Provence region of France. The pair has an extensive real estate portfolio that also includes properties in England, Los Angeles, and New York City.
