George Clooney Suffers Minor Injuries Following Scooter Accident
George Clooney was rushed to an Italian hospital on Tuesday after he was involved in a scooter accident on the island of Sardinia, according to reports.
The local paper La Nuova reported that the 57-year-old Oscar-winning actor fell off his scooter somewhere along a state road to Costa Corallina, in the province of Olbia. Clooney is on the island currently shooting the Hulu limited series Catch-22 and was heading to set when the crash took place, according to the Associated Press.
As police explained to NBC reporter Claudio Lavanga, Clooney's accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. after another driver in a car reportedly did not "respect the right of way" and cut in front of Clooney, causing the crash.

Following the accident, the driver of the car helped Clooney by calling for emergency services. At the hospital the star reportedly complained of slight trauma to the pelvis and a few bumps and bruises. People reports that Clooney underwent an MRI, and that his wife, leading human rights attorney Amal Clooney, rushed to be by his side. The actor was released just hours later, and he and his wife left out of a side entrance of the hospital.
