George & Amal Clooney Pledge $500,000 to Gun Safety March in Honor of Their Twins

George and Amal Clooney are taking a major stand against gun violence.

The married couple of three years donated $500,000 in the name of their 8-month-old-twins, Ella and Alexander, to a gun safety march organized by students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Students announced they’re partnering with Everytown for Gun Safety to host March for Our Lives as a call for gun safety reform in the wake of last Wednesday’s deadly shooting.

George released a statement about their impactful donation and revealed that he and Amal will be present for the march in Washington, D.C.: “Amal and I are so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women from Stoneman Douglas High School,” he said. “Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country, and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating $500,000 to help pay for this groundbreaking event. Our children’s lives depend on it.”

We applaud you and your meaningful activism, Clooneys.
