Despite George and Amal Clooney having homes all around the world, their latest real estate move is actually all about their children’s wellbeing, according to close insiders.

In case you need a refresher, George and Amal bought a sprawling 18th-century property in Domaine du Canadel, France, for a little over $8 million back in 2021. Fast forward to 2024, and how are they feeling about the purchase? Well, insiders told InTouch that not only are they thrilled with the purchase, but it’s their primary residence now because they believe it’s the best place for their kids.

“George and Amal are thrilled with their decision to relocate to France. It’s a beautiful setting and completely private, which is what the Clooneys were looking for. It’s a fresh start for their family,” the insider claimed. “[Amal] was quite adamant about the move and had been suggesting it for years. She felt their home on Lake Como [in Italy] was too exposed, and she didn’t want the children going to school in L.A. or England.”

They added, “They still have properties all over. But they’re making France their home base now.”

So it seems that, like many A-listers, the pair have decided to live away from Los Angeles, and we love that Amal has reportedly been pushing for a better lifestyle for their kiddos. We’re sure the family of four will be oh-so-happy with the change of venue!
