Name a more romantic couple than George and Amal Clooney. We'll wait.

Still racking your brain? The reason you came up empty handed is because the limit does not exist when it comes to the Clooneys' borderline gross (good gross, but gross) affection for one another.

But if you're into a astrology (the chances are high that if you're a millennial with an Instagram account, you are), you might wonder where their strong connection comes from, given that their signs — Taurus and Aquarius — are notoriously incompatible.

For InStyle's weekly astrological compatibility column, The Fault In Our Stars' Stars, we teamed up with Courtney Perkins of the freakishly accurate (and hilarious) @notallgeminis astrological Instagram account to break down why the beloved couple actually works, despite their mismatched signs.

The couple:

Amal, 40, and George Clooney, 57, first met in the summer of 2013, when Amal was invited to a dinner a party at George's house on Lake Como by a mutual friend. The pair hit it off, speaking until the wee hours of the night and eventually exchanging email addresses.

George courted his future wife for a year with corny dog jokes and, well, his Clooney charm, before eventually proposing marriage during a romantic dinner he cooked himself in 2014. "She just kept staring at the ring, going, ‘Oh, my God,’" George recalled of the proposal during an interview with David Letterman this year. "It was 20 minutes of me on my knee, waiting for her to say yes, because she was so shocked.”

Shortly thereafter, in September, the couple tied the knot in Venice, Italy. Three years after that, the couple welcomed twins Ella and Alexander; the Clooney fam currently resides in mansion on Lake Como.

Though she isn't in the entertainment business, the fans fell hard for Amal, and she's found herself both a style and career woman icon, finding time to pose for the cover of Vogue and chair the Met Gala when she's not busy litigating critical human rights cases.

His sign:

Taurus: According to Compatible Astrology, "Taurus is a sexy and sensual sign, known for cautiously considering their life decisions, before charging full force into them once sure of what they want. This Jekyll and Hyde aspect can confuse partners until they become familiar with the unique Taurus style."

Her sign:

Aquarius: "An Aquarius is often slow to commit, needing to be sure of both the mental connection between you and that you will allow them a minimum level of freedom in the relationship," writes Compatible Astrology. "Their love for life and continual pursuit of spice makes them very entertaining to love."

The relationship:

Though we can't see behind closed doors, the Clooneys have been known to gush about each other in public — mostly George about wife Amal.

Additionally, Amal reduced us all to a puddle of emotion when she gave a rare speech about her hubby when he was honored with a lifetime achievement award from the American Film Institute. "It’s somehow easier for me to address a court on behalf of a detainee, than to speak publicly as I am doing for the first time tonight about my husband ... " she said.

"My love, what I have found with you is the great love I always hoped existed. And seeing you with our children, Ella and Alexander, is the greatest joy in my life ... ” she said. "You fill our home with laughter and happiness and that’s even before the children have worked out that ‘da-da’ is Batman, a talking fox, and friends with Mary Poppins. I’m so proud of you my love."

SOMEONE PASS THE TISSUES.

The compatibility breakdown:

"Honestly, this is the least compatible match," Perkins tells InStyle, "but I think the circumstances of this pairing actually sort out the usual issues." Before you ask, no, the circumstances were not the fact that both are incredibly successful, talented and beautiful people.

"Typically Aquarius can be a little too independent for a Taurus, but George is the eternal bachelor," she says. "He’s got enough spirit and adventure to keep up with Amal. Meanwhile, Taurus can be a little too stick-in-the-mud for an Aquarius, but what they are truly seeking is a loyal partner that they can show off." (Checks out — we'd want to show off our silver fox husband if we were Amal, too.)

"Taurus appreciates beauty and glamour, and Amal has that in spades," Perkins says. "Both signs can be stubborn, but who can really have problems when you’re vacationing in Lake Como?"

The long and the short: Amal's Aquarius may be too wildly independent for George's somewhat drab but loyal Taurus, they've hit a point in their lives when what they're truly seeking — lifelong, strong and intelligent partners — overshadows those shallower desires.
