Zendaya’s Naked Dress Was The Highlight Of Paris Fashion Week

Just when I think I’m having an unsalvageable bad day, Zendaya’s naked dress swoops in with all the sartorial serotonin a girl could ask for. There’s honestly no one doing street-style fashion like she is these days, and the barely-there zipper dress she showed up wearing in Paris is definitely one of her wildest looks to date. I put all of my fashion faith in Zendaya and she puts all of her faith in a singular zipper.
Zendaya arrived at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer ‘24 show in Paris and undoubtedly stopped traffic (I wasn’t there, but one can assume). The Emmy award-winning actress arrived in a long white dress from Louis Vuitton that featured a singular large zipper down the center of the entire dress. Zendaya proved to be quite the risk taker by wearing the dress unzipped from both the top and the bottom—the only part of the dress that remained zipped was the part that needed to remain zipped.

If you were distracted by the styling of the dress or the incredible slow-motion video Zendaya posted of herself to her own Instagram feed, you may have neglected to notice the garment’s detailing. The dress features two leather horse-bit buckles on the shoulders and leather zipper tabs for an equestrian feel.
The Louis Vuitton ambassador wore her hair long straight down her back with a strong center part and opted out of wearing statement jewelry.

Later in the day, Zendaya debuted a second full Louis Vuitton look in Paris. She took a more casual approach to the outfit and leaned into a strong Y2K aesthetic. She paired a short-sleeved gold peplum top with jeans and carried a white Louis Vuitton bag with the brand’s signature rainbow monogramming.
The outfit was styled by Law Roach and featured pieces from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2004 collection. In the original 2004 campaign shoot, the look was worn by supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Zendaya has worked with stylist Law Roach for years and he can be credited with her previous naked dress looks including the ensemble she wore to the 2021 Venice Film Festival.
A post from user @checkthetag on Instagram comparing Z’s look to its on-the-runway source shows just how far Roach and Zendaya are willing to go to transform a piece and achieve perfection. The original garment was a deeper shade of brown and appears to be more of a long tank-style tunic than a gown, styled with a turtleneck underneath, a skirt, over-the-knee boots and outerwear to really emphasize a layered look.
When you strip the piece of all the excess layers, a stripped-down look is exactly what you get—Zendaya looks nude! And beautiful and ethereal and elegant and classy and all the things she always is.
