Gentle Pit Bull Who Gets Stuck Because She Won't Step on Her Bed Is Melting Hearts

Every shelter dog has their own unique traits and characteristics that make them one of a kind. Whether you fall in love with a pup's floppy ears or the way they lovingly ask for pets, there is an endless combination of factors that make them different from any other dog--even their own littermates. Of course, many dogs share things in common, but you'll never find an exact copy of your four-legged friend.

The folks at the Humane Society of Broward County can agree! They meet thousands of special animals each year, and they've certainly never met a pup like Bella the American Bully. This big girl is the definition of a 'gentle giant' whether it comes to people, dogs, or even items! Even when the silly goose got herself stuck in her kennel on Valentine's Day, she wouldn't step on her bed!

Aww! Bella seems like such a sweet girl, and it breaks my heart to think of this big baby spending days and nights by herself in a kennel. Of course, the shelter volunteers at @humanebroward give their shelter dogs daily exercise, attention, and as much enrichment as possible, but nothing comes close to life in a forever home.

And clearly, Bella the American Bully is going to thrive in a home! She's so polite with property--not even stepping on her own bed to let herself back inside--and she was so grateful to her friend for the helping hand. In fact... her forever home may have already found her, and I'd like to think that this adorable video had something to do with it! Her biography is no longer listed on the Humane Society of Broward County's website, and her adoption fee has been sponsored, so this sounds like good news to me!

Bella's previous family had moved without her, and the 7-year-old had spent around 100 days with Humane Broward before this video was posted. I have all my fingers crossed that this love bug is starting to decompress with her true forever family now!

Large Dogs are Harder to Adopt

You can find dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages in an animal shelter, though some pups tend to find homes a lot faster than others. Sadly, senior dogs, larger dogs, and dark-colored dogs tend to wait a lot longer at the shelter, even though they are as loving and loyal as any other canine. The odds were not on Bella's size as an older American Bulldog, but her sweet personality will win the right person over. In fact, it probably already has!
