The Gentle Barn Shares Sweetest Tribute to Beloved Blind Cow Who Passed Away
Saying goodbye is never easy. Especially for the people on at The Gentle Barn. The animal sanctuary recently shared a touching tribute to their sweet blind cow Faith, who passed away at 17 years old. "We were privileged to have known her and cared for her."
Faith's story isn't typical, but she was so, so special to the people who knew her best.
The sweet girl had a hard life, but the sanctuary was able to bring her some comfort .
"For those of you who don't know, our angel cow Faith recently peacefully passed away at nearly 17 years old," the video's caption reads.

Faith has been blind she was a calf, they explained. "After being taken from her mom at birth and living through an untreated eye infection."
The Gentle Barn rescued her in 2008 "and worked tirelessly to heal her body and mind, she lived a whole, happy life in sanctuary being showered with love and affection by all those who met her and learned her story," they added.
Throughout her life, poor Faith had growths on her eyes that they removed. But eventually her right eye was overtaken by cancer. Her cancer recently returned and Faith lost her battle.
Faith and Her Famous Ball
The footage shows Faith playing with her favorite bouncy ball, which brought her comfort as if it was her child. Faith would even cry if it wasn't near her, but thankfully her caretakers always made sure to keep it by her side.
"She thinks this ball is her baby, when she can't find it she gets very upset and cries for it," a woman in the video explained. "She loves that ball."
The footage shows Faith nuzzling the ball and keeping it underneath her body.
After Faith passed, the ball was left in the barnyard. It has since passed to another cow at the sanctuary, a new rescue named Rosalie who has also fallen in love with it.
"It's helping her on her journey now," the video's text overlay reads.
People in the comments section were heartbroken to say goodbye to Faith. "I’m crying for Faith. May her beautiful soul rest in Heaven forever with endless treats and love," one person wrote. "Thank you for caring for her and giving her the best life," a second commenter added. "I'm so sorry for the loss of a lovely cow. This is so sweet," a third commenter chimed in.
It's clear the Gentle Barn will miss her too.
"Thank you so much for loving Faith with us," the video's text overlay states, "making her feel special, and sharing her story so that others could know her too."
