My favorite part of Easter has always been dying eggs. As a kid I was obsessed with the little egg dye kits, and could spend hours and hours dipping them into the colorful dyes. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve gotta up the anti a little when it comes to egg decorating, and these cool whip eggs (inspired by our friends at Women’s Day) are the perfect way to do it.

To start, hard boil as many eggs as you’d like to decorate. Next, submerge them in white vinegar and let them sit for a couple minutes. This will help your dye adhere to the eggs. Drain the eggs and pat them completely dry with a paper towel.

Next, spread your cool whip in a thin, even layer on a small baking sheet or baking dish. Place droplets of food coloring all over, in as many colors as you like. Take a toothpick and swirl the colors until you have a sort of marbled effect. Roll your eggs in the cool whip until completely covered, then let sit 15 to 20 minutes to allow the dye to set. After that, all ya gotta do is rinse! The result? Easter eggs Lisa Frank would be proud of.
