You probably can’t remember what you were doing around this time in 2011, but maybe, just maybe it involved eating Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch from General Mills. According to Instagram account @cereallife, which posted a picture of the new packaging, the cereal is making a comeback in the breakfast aisle.

The regular Cocoa Puffs cereal consists of those round, chocolatey, crunchy bites. The Cocoa Puffs Brownie Crunch is a quite different and features “sweetened chocolatey squares,” as described as the original and new packaging. The square pieces have darker specks throughout them, so we’re hoping that means there is more chocolate flavor packed in each bite. After all, they’re supposed to taste like brownies, right?

The old and new packaging look extremely similar, with the main difference being that “Cocoa Puffs” in larger print. It’s reported that the cereal is expected to hit shelves in August 2020, but we’ll keep you updated when we get the official word.

There aren’t a lot of things everyone can agree on, but we think that a blast from the past food is one of the rare exceptions that we can all come together on. So let’s all agree now to meet in the cereal aisle (when we're allowed to, of course) when it’s confirmed that these have hit stores. Deal? OK, see you then.
