General Mills Has a New Minions Cereal That Tastes Like Vanilla Cake
Minions: The Rise of Gru was originally supposed to hit theaters in summer 2020, but has recently been pushed back to July 2021. It’s a total bummer, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that General Mills isn’t pushing back its new themed cereal that truly tastes like dessert.
Instagram account @cereallife has posted a picture of the new breakfast bite. As detailed on the packaging, the cereal is made up of sweetened corn cereal and marshmallows. The best part is that it tastes like — drumroll please — vanilla cake! We told you it was like eating a dessert. The cereal pieces are yellow and blue, and the marshmallows are white.
There isn’t any information on when the General Mills Minions: The Rise of Gru cereal will hit shelves, but we wouldn’t imagine it would be all that soon, since we still have a ways to go until the film is released.
This isn’t the first Minions-themed cereal out there. In 2015, General Mills created a special edition Minions Banana Berry Flavor cereal. A couple years later, Kellogg’s unveiled a Despicable Me cereal with marshmallows and a brown sugar vanilla flavor.
Again, we’ll have to see if General Mills decides to postpone this cereal’s release so that it’s timed with the movie. We would totally understand, but try explaining that to our vanilla-cake-craving taste buds.
