Gene Simmons, 74, Feels 'Immortal' Thanks to His 'Schmeckle'

Gene Simmons appears to have a simple, yet positive perspective on aging, as he shared in a new interview all about himself and his band KISS' final tour.
The 74-year-old recently spoke with The Guardian, and while talking about the end of his rock band's career as they all get older, Simmons revealed what makes him still feel young, saying, "As long as your schmeckle works, you feel immortal."
It's good to hear Simmons' confidence, as earlier this year, the musician got sick while on tour, leading KISS to pause a concert to help him.
As for Simmons' sexual escapades, they have often been a topic of discussion, and according to the rocker himself, throughout his early years, he allegedly slept with more than 4,000 women. Simmons then met Shannon Tweed in 1983 and they've been together ever since, reaching 40 years in 2023.
Despite his longtime love, Simmons claimed there's a reason he had so many dalliances in the past, seeming to state that it's just how men are: "Listen. Men are idiots. There isn’t enough blood to power two heads at once, so a lot of really stupid decisions can get made when that little head takes over."
"When you’re a woman and you see a man...what you’re seeing is a mirage. That’s actually a 14-year-old horny kid," Simmons explained. "We can’t even think straight when we see you."
He concluded, "I don’t say this as a defense, because I stand guilty as charged of everything.”
In the interview, Simmons also talked about his love for his wife and the strength of their relationship, proclaiming, "This will be the only marriage I ever have because my definition of marriage isn’t based on that stuff, it’s based on somebody who in a real sense will give their life for you."
The longtime couple share two children, Nick, 34, and Sophie, 31, and they got married in 2011.
