Gemma Chan Earned a Huge Honor From Max Mara and Women In Film
After leaping from the small screen in England to a star turn in Hollywood with Crazy Rich Asians and Captain Marvel, Gemma Chan's latest accomplishment is a major one. She's the latest actress to receive the Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award®, which shines the spotlight on a woman that "is experiencing a turning point in her career." With another huge Marvel movie in the future, Let Them All Talk alongside Meryl Streep, and the Crazy Rich Asians sequels, there's no doubt she deserves it. Chan will be honored this summer at the 2020 Women In Film Annual Gala in Beverly Hills, California, but she got a head start on the festivities when she attended the Max Mara Fall/Winter 2020 fashion show during Milan Fashion Week.

Chan's Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award® recognizes her work on Channel 4/AMC's Humans as well as her film work and theatre roles, including Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming and Yellow Face, by Tony Award-winning David Henry Hwang.

In addition to acting, Chan works as a Unicef U.K. supporter and has traveled to Kingston, Jamaica, to bring awareness to domestic violence on the island nation. Reports state that 80% of children witness or experience violence in their homes or communities in Jamaica.
