Gate-Crashers Nearly Caused a Riot at Off-White's Paris Fashion Week Show

According to the "New York Post," there was mass chaos outside of the Off-White fashion show during Paris Fashion Week.

While it's not unexpected to see fans and street-style aficionados flock to celebrity-endorsed fashion shows, Thursday's chaos outside of Off-White's Paris show proved the designer's cult-level following. According to the New York Post, gate-crashers caused a riot on rue Cambon just before the models were set to walk.

The area outside of the show was reportedly filled with uninvited guests and police trying to tame the crowd. One car was reportedly stuck in the mayhem and an actual attendee was pushed to the ground, unable to get up as others moved in around her towards the doors. The tumultuous scene wasn't just created by those dying to get a look at Virgil Abloh's latest creations, either. There were also reportedly publicists pushing guests around inside, trying to make way for models to, you know, show off the new clothes. Seeing this chaos from a distance, some editors reportedly turned away and refused to attend the show, declaring it unsafe.

Some who were part of the chaotic scene were definitely trying to get in without an invitation, so it should come as no surprise that they were trying to crash the Off-White show. It's one of the most star-studded shows of Paris Fashion Week, and stars like Bella Hadid and Kanye West are counted as some of the biggest fans of the streetwear label (Abloh serves as Kanye's creative director). He has previously collaborated with Nike and the wear is nearly impossible to get your hands on. Abloh has even collaborated with IKEA to redesign the iconic Fraka bag — apparently, the only thing the fashion designer can't do is keep fans at bay. Hopefully, no one was seriously injured.
