Aside from being one of country music’s most iconic artists, Garth Brooks is also the proud dad of his girls. The “Friends in Low Places” crooner tied the knot with his college sweetheart, Sandy Mahl, in 1986. Together, the former couple welcomed three daughters, Taylor Brooks, August Brooks and Allie Brooks.

Becoming a father was a huge deal for Garth, who actually took a decade-long hiatus from Hollywood in 2000 after welcoming his three children. At the time, the new father — who split from Sandy in 1999 — said he would wait until his youngest daughter left for college before returning to country music. In 2014, he kept true to his word and made his highly anticipated debut following Allie’s graduation from high school.

During his time away from the spotlight, the Grammy winner also met and fell in love with fellow country artist Trisha Yearwood. Just four years after his separation from Sandy was finalized in 2001, Garth and the “How Do I Live” songstress exchanged vows in December 2005.

Although Trisha didn’t have any kids of her own from prior marriages to exes Chris Latham and Robert Reynolds, she became the proud stepmom to Garth’s kiddos. While chatting with Closer Weekly and other reporters at an NYC event in November 2019, Garth opened up about how “good” it was to have Trisha by his side while he was raising his daughters.

“My best friend showed up [and] helped me out a lot,” he gushed at the time. “She didn’t have children either. So we were kind of blind leading the blind.” Despite some challenges, the “If Tomorrow Never Comes” crooner noted the two always found a way to amicably coparent with Garth’s ex-wife, Sandy.

“I’d never wished divorce on anybody, but three children and three parents worked really well — especially since the three girls were all tomboys,” he explained. “So they were all at soccer, track and field, whatever, softball. So never ever did one of those kids take the field where at least one parent wasn’t in the stands.”

It sounds like Garth and Trisha have built a strong foundation for their family.

Garth first became a dad after he and Sandy welcomed their eldest daughter, Taylor, on July 8, 1992. According to reports, the brunette beauty attended college at Oklahoma State University and studied history from 2010 to 2016. Taylor, who was named after singer James Taylor and comedian Minnie Pearl, later attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville where she earned her Master’s degree in Theology in May 2020.

Although her dad is one of country music’s most famous artists, Taylor tends to spend the majority of her time out of the public eye. However, she did join Garth, Trisha and her little sister Allie to work on a Habitat for Humanity project in Nashville in October 2019.

Garth welcomed his second daughter, August, on May 3, 1994. After graduating high school, August worked for a law firm. In 2013, when she was just 19 years old, the country crooner’s little girl became a mom after welcoming her first child, daughter Karalynn, with her longtime love, Chance Michael Russell.

A few years after becoming a grandfather, Garth opened up about the unexpected surprise. “It always turns out that that baby is the glue that holds the whole family together,” he gushed to KICKS 105.5 in 2016. “She’s the little stem that kind of holds the whole family together, and it’s kind of new for us … she’s a doll.”

Besides going on to marry Chance, August also welcomed her second child, daughter Gwendolyn, in December 2016.

Garth welcomed his third daughter, Allie, on July 28, 1996. The aspiring musician followed in her famous father’s footsteps as she studied music at Belmont University in Nashville. Funny enough, “The Thunder Rolls” singer made his daughter promise she wouldn’t pursue a music career until after she got her college degree.

Now that she’s graduated, Allie is focused on paving a showbiz career just like her father. In July 2019, she released her first single titled “Work in Progress.” Most impressively, she released her debut album titled “Stones,” in April 2021. Allie opened up about the exciting release during a chat with Entertainment Tonight.

“I love to sing, and … I don’t really have to think all of the things that I think about all of the time when I sing, so, I don’t think I’ve thought of it as like, a career, you know?” she said. “I just knew I was going to sing for the rest of my life, and then I think as I got older, it was just like, ‘No, that’s the only thing I’m also going to do is sing for the rest of my life.'”

In addition to her music career, Allie has also celebrated some personal milestones. In July 2017, she got engaged to her physical education teacher boyfriend, Jonathan Roberts, during one of her dad’s concerts at the Forum in Los Angeles. For their October 2018 wedding day, the couple got married on Garth’s estate in Tennessee in a chapel he built just for them.

Allie is always shouting out her “bonus mom” Trisha on Instagram. The “Ain’t The Only Hell (My Momma Raised)” singer appeared on a special Father’s Day episode of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen in June 2020. She and Trisha got creative and revamped recipes that Garth made when his kids were younger.
