Garth Brooks Delivers Emotional Message During Free Concert that Crashed Facebook Live: ‘Everyone Love One Another’
As we all try to find ways to distract ourselves and pass the time during this period of social distancing, countless celebrities are broadcasting free online concerts. Now, Garth Brooks is the latest to join stars like John Legend and Pink, giving his fans quite the emotional concert on Facebook Live last night.
On Friday night, the Country Music star announced that he and his wife, fellow musician Trisha Yearwood, would perform the free concert on the social media platform on Monday, starting at 7 p.m. EST.
“Monday night at 7 pm ET the Queen and I are playing your requests during #StudioG!,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “Post your song requests below and let’s let music connect us during this disconnected time! It’s house cleaning ALL NIGHT LONG #GarthRequestLive !!! love, g.” And it looks like the performance was quite the success.
According to USA Today, the country couple drew 3.4 million viewers to the concert, causing the website to repeatedly crash throughout the event. Yup, looks like Garth Brooks broke the internet.
As Yearwood sang “Amazing Grace,” Brooks became emotional. “We're all in this together,” he told the audience. “I need this worse than anybody.”
He ended the concert by telling the audience, “Everyone love one another.” And we couldn’t agree more.
