The flower delivery service named the graceful peony as its flower of the year. Chosen for its beauty and significance, the fragrant peony is often included in bridal bouquets and is a popular choice among gift givers. Additionally, the peony is one of the most searched flowers on 1-800-Flowers.com.

Peonies produce ruffled, blousy blooms in an array of dreamy colors, ranging from pale pink to bright red. They make a beautiful addition to cut gardens, as they are known for being a long-lasting flower in bouquets. "Peonies, with their vibrant and delicate petals, are the perfect gesture for romantic and celebratory occasions, while the philodendron with its striking foliage, inspires plant and decor enthusiasts to bring nature indoors," said Abhay Patel, brand president of 1-800-Flowers.com in a press release.

Beloved for being a low-maintenance houseplant, 1-800-Flowers.com has selected philodendron as its 2024 plant of the year. The genus' climbing and trailing abilities and unique, tropical foliage, make it a highly sought-after plant for beginner and experienced gardeners alike.

Philodendrons have large, waxy green leaves and are a beautiful addition to any houseplant collection. There are two main types of philodendron, vining and non-climbing. Vining philodendrons require a structure to crawl up, while non-climbing grow upright and don't require additional support. The easy-to-care-flor plant generally requires minimal watering and indirect sunlight.
