Gap Teams Up With Model Sisters Lily and Ruby Aldridge for California-Inspired Dôen Collaboration

The Gap’s latest collab has us California dreaming, tapping West Coast clothing label Dôen and model-sister duo Lily and Ruby Aldridge for an effortlessly-chic summer capsule.

The limited-edition Gap x Dôen collection — which drops Friday, May 17 — merges “Gap and Dôen’s most-loved essentials and California classics in a celebration of individuality and timeless femininity,” according to a press release. The 51-piece capsule mixes Gap’s heritage denim and khaki with dainty and feminine “floral prints, eyelet, and flowy silhouettes” that the California label known for. They’ve also shrunk down the Gap x Dôen pieces to children’s wear, modeled by yet another pair of stylish sisters.
This capsule is also a great way to pick up some of Dôen’s luxe Americana styles think (ginghams and collegiate prep) without paying country club prices — everything from trendy dresses, to summer denim and loungewear are all from $19.95 and $158. Though their personal styles might differ, the whole line was still designed by Dôen co-founders (and sisters) Katherine and Margaret Kleveland, and is rooted in nostalgia and femininity.
“As with all our DÔEN designs, the collaboration pieces were designed to be loved, worn in, and passed down — and we’re beyond excited to partner with Gap to be able to offer this to an engaged global community,” Dôen co-founder and CCO Katherine Kleveland said in a statement.
“The timeless and iconic nature of the Gap brand is so inspiring to both Katherine and me,” adds Margaret Kleveland, fellow co-Founder and CEO of DÔEN. “We wore the brand endlessly as children and now dress our own little ones in their never-out-of-style essential pieces.”
Just as the Klevelands have their own styles, the Aldridges different fashion tastes are also reflected in the campaign shoot. Singer and model Ruby Aldridge goes for casual-yet-polished tomboy fits like baggy khakis and jeans, button-downs, and oversized jackets. While model Lily is dressed in more playful and feminine styles from the collection, dolled up in flowy silhouettes, floral prints, and linen.
