Throughout the series, HBO has always teased the forthcoming episode with a collection of photos on the Wednesday before each one airs. There's usually something like a half dozen to a dozen (last week there were only nine) photos that show various characters in various stages of distress. On Sunday HBO airs the final episode of Game of Thrones, and ahead of the finale, they've only sent along two photos.

In one we see Daenerys Targaryen looking over her army and the ruins of King's Landing, with smoke rising from the fires still burning in the rubble. Her army stands at rank before her. It looks to be the dawn of a dark era, the reign of the next Mad Queen. It does not bode well for Westeros or our remaining heroes.

The other photo is one that's more familiar. We see Tyrion Lannister looking more distressed than usual with more collapsed buildings behind him. He's lost both his siblings: Jaime who he loved deeply and saw as his protector. And Cersei, his awful, evil sister who tried to kill him on multiple occasions. He tried his best to save the city from Daenerys' wrath. They rang the bells! He tried to save both his brother and his sister! But, Daenerys torched the city despite Tyrion's efforts and his siblings died during the collapse of the Red Keep.

Things look bad. And if these two photos tell a story, it's that Tyrion must do something to stop the rise of Daenerys Targaryen. But what? She has a dragon? And there is no hope.
