'Game of Thrones' Fans Think They Found Proof Jaime Lannister Is Alive

From Good Housekeeping

  • Game of Thrones fans think they found proof that Jaime Lannister is still alive after last week's episode.

  • Spoilers below, obviously.

Jaime Lannister's death was one of the most devastating on last week's episode of Game of Thrones, and as a way of coping with that, the internet has seemingly found proof that he's actually still alive. It sounds crazy, but the receipts low-key add up.

One Tumblr user, WeedsAreFlowersToo, put together a pretty compelling case. She admitted that at first she was just sad about Jaime's death (same), but the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. Here we go.

She said the first thing that felt off to her was the lack of goodbyes from the cast to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime.

"Why isn’t ANYONE acknowledging that Jaime Lannister just died??? Why is nobody in the cast thanking Nik for his performance? Why did Pilou (Euron Greyjoy) and Lena’s (Cersei Lannister) insta post not say anything about Jaime dying? Why isn’t Nik saying anything about what he thinks of the scene? Why did he make a post saying goodbye to Lena, and not to the character he played for 8 years? Why is there no talk of Jaime’s death in the game revealed?"

If you look at the Instagrams in question, she's totally right. Here's Nikolaj's:

Her next piece of proof actually has to do with a writer at Entertainment Weekly. James Hibberd has been doing exit interviews with most of the actors who have died on this season of the show. He did them with both Lena and Rory McCann, who played The Hound. When someone asked him about Nikolaj's, though, here's what he said:

Cryptic, right? "Apparently James Hibberd [the EW editor] also said there was a character he was surprised to see alive in episode 6," WeedsAreFlowersToo continued. "I don’t think there is any other character at this point that we would be shocked to see alive except Jaime. Prove me wrong."

Interesting. Also, she pointed out that Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, didn't say anything when Jaime died. Seems weird considering they were in SO many scenes together, right?

In total fairness, it would be absolutely crazy for Jaime to have been able to escape a literal building collapse, but GoT has done weirder things, right?
