The actress' daughter is embracing life 'Under The Sea'!
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's three-year-old daughter Kaavia transformed into Ariel, AKA the Little Mermaid, in a new video shared on Union's Instagram.
The adorable clip, which Union shared with her followers on Instagram, shows the family on a cruise, with Kaavia all decked out in a purple swimsuit top, a red wig, and, of course, a green mermaid tail.
In the video, a compilation of clips show Kaavia flapping her tail around, lounging in a chair, posing, and dancing with her dad, all set to the Starsound Orchestra's version of "Under The Sea."
Union captioned the post, "You know we had to set off Halloween season right. May I present 'Ariel & Her Sea Legs' for awards consideration. #RepresentationMatters #StayMadJan S/O to @chelsea.union for making this perfect costume! #LittleMermaidReaction #mermaidtiktok."
It sounds like Union's sister, Chelsea Union, made the fantastic The Little Mermaid outfit, right in time for October.
Many people loved the cute video of Kaavia, with Diarra Bousso, the founder of the brand DIARRABLU, writing, "She is goals 😍."
John Boyega commented, "So cute lmao love her 😂," while Lexi Underwood, who starred in Little Fires Everywhere, left a heart eyes emoji.
Along with Halloween, Kaavia is also likely looking forward to the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid from Disney, coming out on May 26, 2023.
The movie stars Halle Bailey, a Black actress and singer, as the beloved mermaid at the center of the story.
Union's caption seems to directly reference people who are mad at the fact that Ariel isn't white in the new film, as shown in her two hashtags, "#RepresentationMatters #StayMadJan."
For many young Black kids, seeing Bailey as Ariel is an amazing moment, with tons of videos circulating the internet showing the moment kids first see Bailey's character in the new trailer.
Even Bailey commented on Kaavia's video as Ariel, writing, "omg love it ! 😍❤️" in response.
