Gabrielle Union is taking a trip down memory lane and we were not prepared to be so in our feels. The actress posted on her daughter’s official Instagram account a carousel of throwback photos with the captions, “I know love because you felt it first 💕.”
The opening shot of Union with her husband Dwyane Wade and their daughter Kaavia James. The loving parents are sitting on the couch, looking adoringly at the 4-year-old who is lying across their legs and cheesing hard for the camera.

The next is of the sweet family on the field for a University of Nebraska football game a couple of years ago. They are decked out in Huskers gear and Kaavia has the cutest little “WTF?” expression. The third is of Union holding a squishy little Kaavia in her lap. Wade is kissing her little hand, and Kaavia is giving the camera the biggest stank face. ICYMI: Kaavia James is majorly sassy and not afraid to throw shade when necessary. Or, well, whenever.

The Union-Wades seem to be spending a lot of time lately reflecting on their love for Kaavia. As they should! Their latest business venture was actually inspired by their shady baby. The couple partnered with a dermatologist of color to create a skincare line specifically designed and formulated for melanated skin.
“From the moment our daughter Kaavia entered this world, we knew we’d teach her to embrace her skin—its beauty, power, wisdom, and magic,” they said. “And that means caring for it with love.”
The company, PROUDLY, makes all kinds of moisturizers and lotions and recently launched a line of haircare products. Our favorite? Their Ultra-Rich Body Butter.
Union and Wade also share Wade’s two kids from a previous marriage, Zaya, 16, and Zaire, 21. The retired basketball player thanked his family in his recent Hall of Fame inductee speech. “Thank you all for being there for me and for loving me in the most perfect way possible. I appreciate you guys and I love y’all.” Side note: He also hilariously thanked his wife for learning the names of all the NBA referees. “And for screaming at them so I didn’t have to — saved a lot of fine money.”
