Gabrielle Union Rocks a Fishnet Over Swimsuit in Breathtaking Photos

If there's anyone who knows how to kick off a hot girl summer, it's Gabrielle Union.

In a new seaside magazine photoshoot, the 50-year-old actress already made quite the splash, showing off her beach body with a stunning high-fashion twist.

As seen in sneak peek photos on her Instagram page, Union recently posed for Who What Wear as the publications cover star for July 2023—and the results are enough to make anyone's jaw drop.

Styled by Thomas Christos, the Bring It On alum looked like a real-life sea goddess, as she sported a simple brown bandeau bathing suit from SKIMS underneath nothing but a fitted fishnet dress that draped all the way down her legs. The netting even covered a cluster of giant rocks behind her, giving off major mermaid-esque energy.

The breathtaking look was made even more striking with a burlap-looking fabric shaped into a ruffled circle that perfectly framed her face.

"Casting out my net and reeling in opportunities 🙏🏾" she fittingly captioned her Instagram post on Wednesday, June 28.

To no one's surprise, Union received an avalanche of praise in the comment section, including one message from her 16-year-old step-daughter Zaya, 16, who wrote "Slayy❤️❤️❤️" underneath the post.

"Mermaid vibes 😍" another follower added in the comments, while someone else called the photos of Union simply "Divine."

The new magazine issue not only illuminates Union's incredible ability to bring fashion everywhere she goes, but also shines a light on her dedication to creating space for herself, especially when life throws its curveballs.

"It used to scare the shit out of me … the thought of disappointing or inconveniencing people," she told the outlet. "But I’ve learned I can be okay with not being okay. There are so many days that I can’t be a strength to myself, much less to anyone else, and that's okay,"

She continued, "We are so conditioned to be perfect at all times, to be the strong Black woman, but I’m going to tell you right now—the world keeps spinning, nobody misses a beat, and people get over it. So creating space for yourself when you need it is okay."
